Mia Angelini, CSW

Welcome to Mia’s Office

Whether you’re a couple striving for deeper connection, an individual navigating a major life transition, or someone healing from past trauma, I am here to support you. Together, we’ll break free from harmful patterns, strengthen relationships, and cultivate greater self-understanding.

I use an integrative, person-centered approach that views you as the expert in your own life. My role is to serve as a facilitator—to help you set goals, uncover insights, and find new ways forward. In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and creating a “screenshot” of who you are, which will guide your therapy journey.

I am trained in EMDR and Kniffley racial trauma treatment, and will soon be trained in Brainspotting and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Over the years, I’ve worked with diverse populations in a variety of settings—including reentry facilities supporting returning citizens, inpatient programs with teens and adults, and the LGBTQ+ community. These experiences have shaped my commitment to providing a safe, inclusive space for growth and healing.

My educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in Pan-African Studies and a master’s degree in social work. These studies continue to ground my belief that most people are not inherently “bad.” Much like the Joker in the Batman movies—who was labeled a villain without anyone asking how the systems around him shaped his choices—I see people through the lens of context, resilience, and possibility.

I help clients explore the connection between thoughts, emotions, and actions, building self-awareness, resilience, and self-compassion along the way. My goal is to create a supportive space where meaningful healing and lasting transformation can happen.
