Welcome to Justin’s Office
Meet Justin Doolittle, Therapy Intern.
Hi! My name is Justin Doolittle, a therapist intern originally from California. I moved to Louisville to attend the University of Louisville’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, and I’m excited to be transitioning into a clinical setting to support clients on their healing journey.
My approach is deeply grounded in human development and the impact of early childhood experiences on emotional well-being, relationships, and identity. I work with children ages 3 and up and adolescents, and I’m especially passionate about supporting clients from first-generation Latinx, Native American, and LGBTQ+ communities.
While much of my work is influenced by psychodynamic therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I also believe a person-centered approach is essential, because meaningful change begins when clients feel safe, supported, and truly understood
Outside of therapy, I come from a linguistics background and have a passion for languages, travel, and exploring different cultures. I also offer therapy in Portuguese and Spanish for children and adolescents, creating a supportive space for clients and families who feel most comfortable expressing themselves in their native language. I value the mind-body connection and enjoy staying active through fitness. In my downtime, I love spending time with friends and family, taking quiet time to reset, watching comedies and soft-romance movies, listening to global music, and thinking about big-picture ideas, like how we can solve world hunger and environmental issues.
Your journey is one of self-discovery, but you don’t have to do it alone.
“In the end, it’s not about the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” — Abraham Lincoln”
